Lukas Schmidt is a theater maker and educator who facilitates artistic reflections. His daily practice focuses on workshops and projects in cultural centers, NGOs, neighborhoods, and schools, where he explores social and local issues with participants. He does this because social issues often polarize us, making us perceive others as "the other." Through art-making, reflection, and interactive exercises, he searches for common ground—what connects us. Often, our stories and experiences align, creating space for understanding. Through recognition and insight, we deepen our understanding of ourselves and others, fostering empathy and social change—his ultimate goal with these projects.

Background & Experience
In 2018, Lukas graduated from ArtEZ in Arnhem in the Netherlands as a theater maker and educator, and in 2024, he obtained his Master’s in Issue-Based Art Education there. Since then, he has created dozens of performances and educational projects, both in the Netherlands and internationally, for organizations such as Save The Children, Theater Oostpool, Theater Sonnevanck, and Maas Theater and Dance. In addition to participation projects and arts education, he is an educator of theater, writing, identity, and personal development. He holds a first-degree teaching qualification and has seven years of classroom experience.
